Installation & Weather Protection Policy

BGW Doors products are designed for exterior use, but proper installation and environmental protection are required to ensure long-term performance and warranty coverage.

1. Installation Requirements (CRITICAL)

All doors must be installed by a qualified professional
Doors must be properly sealed and aligned
Installation must follow standard exterior door practices
Improper installation voids all warranty coverage

👉 Warranty only applies when installation requirements are properly followed.

2. Weather Protection Requirement (VERY IMPORTANT)

All exterior doors must have adequate overhead weather protection
A fixed overhang or covered entryway is required
Wood Doors: Minimum 7 ft. overhang for 80" doors and 9 ft. overhang for 96" doors
Fiberglass & Iron Doors: Overhang depth must be at least 50% of the distance from the bottom of the door to the underside of the overhang
Doors must not be exposed to direct rain, snow, or excessive sunlight

Failure to provide proper weather protection will void warranty coverage.

3. What Is NOT Covered

Sun damage, fading, or heat exposure
Water damage or moisture intrusion
Warping caused by lack of overhang protection
Damage caused by improper installation
Damage from neglect or lack of maintenance

4. Customer Responsibility

Ensure proper installation before use
Verify overhang protection is adequate
Maintain door finish as required
Report any issues before installation is completed

5. Important Warranty Notice

Warranty coverage is ONLY valid when installation and weather protection requirements are fully met. Any exposure to direct weather conditions without proper overhang protection will void warranty coverage.
